Whether it’s themed events or custom lighting and stage props, Atlanta’s Flamingo Shadow have never shied away from a bit of spectacle and fun in their live performances. Past shows have seen the group team up with Oakland Cemetery for the Cryptophonic Tour, the Goat Farm for Synthesia II, and the Mammal Gallery for the tropical light art party Sweater Summer, so you can fully expect the group to pull out all the stops when they bring their latest immersive event to the Bakery tomorrow night.

Entitled Camp Firefly: A Sound and Light Excursion, the show finds the tropical punks collaborating with fellow musicians TAYLOR ALXNDR and Shy Layers, along with light installation artists Mason Brown, Chris Ahnberg, and Dale Adams to recreate the nostalgic magic of summer camp. According to the press release, “Camp-goers can explore the Luminescent Forest, see the majestic Light Cave, and enjoy s’mores with dessert master Steve Grubbs, camp cocktails at the cantina and special guest DJ Bigfoot. The event will be hosted by camp counselor Eddie Ray.”

The show will also mark Flamingo Shadow’s last performance for the foreseeable future. The group plans to embark on a lengthy hiatus as lead singer Madeline Adams and guitarist/bassist David Matysiak begin preparations for their baby due in early July.

Flamingo Shadow presents Camp Firefly: A Sound and Light Excursion tomorrow night, Apr. 27, at the Bakery alongside TAYLOR ALXNDR and Shy Layers. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $12 in advance or $15 at the door ($12 if you dress up for camp). All ages.
