As one of Atlanta’s more unique music events, Milk + Cookies bills itself as a “music and dessert” festival, one that seeks to pair intimate performances from national touring artists with a wide selection of local food and desserts. But, for me, what really makes M + C so tasty is the promoters’ willingness to stack their lineup with a wealth of homegrown talent. To that end, while this year’s major draws Torey Lanez, Alina Baraz, and Xavier Omär may get top billing and the headlines that come with it, the festival runners have once again made sure there is plenty of local love on the bill.

In addition to the three previous acts mentioned, this year’s lineup also features ATL star in the making SahBabii and chameleonic songstress and all-around creative guru BOSCO. Other Atlanta acts scheduled to perform include neo soul crooner Summer Walker, DJ and WERC Crew principal Xavier BLK, female empowerment collective Bae Worldwide, and DJ and producer Florista. With L.A.’s Tim Gunter being the remaining artist yet to be mentioned, that makes for an even split between national and local (yeah, I know SahBabii is getting millions of streams and BOSCO isn’t exactly toiling in the underground, but still), which is fairly remarkable. All in all it looks to be a terrific event and with early bird tickets having sold out, you better snatch up your passes soon.
