Atlanta nonprofit and arts collective Megafuss have their fingers in a whole lot of different pies. They’re a DIY record label, booking agency, and publicist intent on providing free guidance and resources to artists in need in an attempt to disrupt and subvert the for profit system that makes breaking into music impossible for the vast majority of bands and musicians. To that end, they’ve launched a number of initiatives including tourdiy.org, a massive DIY booking support initiative that provides artists with the tools and contacts they need to successfully book their own tours.

Megafuss’ latest venture is the newly launched Megafuss TV, a free, community-based media network, which, according to their mission statement, is designed to …reinvigorate underground music culture by curating and producing content relevant to underground music.” Aspiring videographers and filmmakers — both novices and professionals alike — are encouraged to create their own original content and submit them to Megafuss, who will review the submissions and decide whether or not to commit additional resources to help produce further segments or episodes.

In the spirit of cooperation and aligning ATL makers, Immersive is partnering with Megafuss TV to bring you highlights and overviews from their original programming. The first of the videos can be watched above.

For the inaugural episodes of MFTV, Megafuss founder and Flower and exwhy frontman Jack Fowler brought his video crew to WRASFest 2016 to document the event by capturing live performances, conducting interviews, and gathering behind-the-scenes footage. The compilation piece above features appearances by local artists Shepherds, Floral Print, and Carter Sutherland of Sea Ghost, as well as headliners BOSCO and Speakerfoxxx, Athens punks Muuy Biien, WRASFest organizer Nadia Deljou, and much, much more. Individual episodes/interviews can be watched now on the Megafuss site. This is only the beginning of we envision to be a fruitful collaboration so stay tuned for more content coming soon.
