The new single from multi-instrumentalist and producer Christopher Brooker, aka Where Are We, is both lustrous and propulsive, setting psychedelic noise and dreamy synths against a driving electronic backbeat. For the Atlanta songwriter, it’s yet another catchy and immersive effort, deftly balancing his love of kaleidoscopic pop with exploratory songwriting. It’s certainly kinetic enough to groove to, but personally I’d rather shut my eyes and listen while all the intertwining layers shift and glide around me.

Shot by director Tim Reis in the garden at the Green House ATL studio, the accompanying video features the artist performing the song while bathed in a hazy swirl of flashing lights, variegated colors, and trippy images. It’s the first taste Brooker has offered of his new audio-visual project In Continuum, an experiment four years in the making that finds him merging his music with video collages, projections, and audio reactive lighting.

“I really just wanted to envelop the audience in something that’s all encompassing,” says Brooker in a press release. “Years of doing live sound and watching people get so easily distracted from traditional shows made me want to take my audio theory and apply it to the visual spectrum, so I could advance my experience as a whole.”
