The new video from Atlanta’s Uniform features a dude with his head in a cube. Maybe it’s about isolation, maybe it’s about perception, maybe it’s about the end of time, but since it’s Uniform, it’s most likely all of the above. The melancholic trudge of the track mirrors the distorted wanderer in the video as the viewer is encouraged to “celebrate the trash.” One of the most immediate tracks from Uniform’s 2017 LP No Trending, “Altar State” is business as usual for the post-punk savants. It’s hope for the hopeless packaged in even more hopelessness.
