Producer Marcus Dominic recently shared yet another collaboration with rapper RobOlu, and the results are straight fire. Although the cut flies by in under a minute-and-a-half, the pair manage to allude to all manner of hip-hop touchtones, from Lil’ Troy’s seminal “Wanna Be a Baller” to Warren G’s smooth West Coast G-funk. Given a title that references two luxury brands long intertwined with rap culture, it’s clear the track’s hazy nostalgia is intentional, but don’t shrug off “Tommy & Lacoste” as a mere throwback jam. Dominic’s kinetic bass and crisp percussion sounds thoroughly of the moment, and RobOlu’s rapping is positively electric, merging emphatic rhymes with his innate ear for melody. Word is the duo are working on a new project, so keep your ears open for more heat soon. In the meantime, press play below and let the sparks fly.
