If authenticity is the name of the game, then finding, developing, and communicating who you are as an individual is critical. Within every journey, there are things to avoid, choices that often work, and a process that can be begun immediately to give an artist confidence they are moving forward in the right direction. But where does one turn to in order to find that information?
Back in October, we announced a media partnership with TuneCore, a leading independent digital music distribution, publishing, and licensing service, to launch a new artist interview series. Entitled MUSIC MADE ME, the series was shot at this year’s A3C Music Festival & Conference and features conversations with over two dozen independent TuneCore artists and producers about their experiences within the music industry. Today, we’re excited to announce the official launch of the project with the premiere of the first six episodes. You can stream them all below.
The aim of the series is to provide aspiring artists with valuable insights, tips, and inspiration to aid in their career development. To that end, MUSIC MADE ME contains interviews with a wide range of creators, producers, and MCs at varying stages in their developmental arc. From Grammy-Award winners and industry tastemakers to newcomers trying to find their footing within an ever-evolving landscape, the series offers viewers plenty of hard-earned wisdom and varying strategies to evaluate and consider.
“Often in interviews, I hear musicians, comics, actors, and professionals discussing how they don’t like to give advice beyond the general cliche because everyone’s path is different,” says series producer and Immersive Atlanta co-founder Luciano Giarrano. “That can be understandable when you worry about affecting someone’s judgment to the point of them making a bad career decision, but it is also eschewing the responsibility of success. For those artists early in their career, the most beneficial thing is gathering as much information and opinions as possible and deciding what is right for themselves. MUSIC MADE ME seeks to advance that process by providing information that is timely, relevant, and constructive.”
MUSIC MADE ME launches today on YouTube and IGTV with the next episode debuting this Friday. Future episodes will air every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
