There’s been no greater gift in my life than learning music. For me, music is more than just chords, rhythm, and melody; it’s how I see my life. It is an amalgamation of the things I do and the people I love. Some days, if I’m honest, I get so despondent when I think about how empty my life would be without music. Maybe that’s why I hold it so close to my heart, like a security blanket I carry with me everywhere.

That’s what makes Little Treblemakers such an important organization in Atlanta. Little Treblemakers gives young kids and adults the opportunity to experience music. Getting young people involved in music gives them a chance to learn the power of creation and ultimately invest in the quality of their life.

Founded by Sydney Eloise (Sydney Eloise & the Palms, Bathe Alone) LTM offers kiddos (and adults) the opportunity to learn an instrument and grow their artistic talent. The organization is a bright star in Atlanta.

A few times each year, the LTM crew shines the spotlight on their students. Since the 2020 pandemic started, LTM has had to innovate and create online programming for their showcases. Creating videos also gave LTM students the real-world experience of participating in recording and shooting a music video. While these videos were born out of necessity during the pandemic, they have quickly become something the entire LTM crew looks forward to each year. Previous highlights include covers of the Beach Boys and the Turtles classic “Happy Together.”

This year’s contribution is no exception. “Scary Things” cranks up the charm with a shock of seventies karaoke vibes and a retooling of ABBA’s smash hit “Dancing Queen.” Only this time, it’s a celebration of the eerie, mysterious, and wacky world of Halloween.

In the video, a young kid played by Olive Abercrombie (Haunting of Hill House and Outer Range) falls asleep and wakes to a world of wild and haunted vibes. If you’re feeling the hairs on your neck stand up, don’t worry. It’s the best kind of haunted. We won’t spoil it for you, but there’s definitely a twist.
