Summer is almost here, which means WRASFest 2016 is just around the corner. This year’s annual fundraiser will be held at Mammal Gallery on Friday, June 10 and today’s surprise announcement of the lineup boasts the largest and most diverse group of artists since the fest was restarted in 2012.
Despite their hurdles in recent years, the most obvious being the 2014 GPB takeover, Album 88 has continued to be a critical voice for Atlanta music, and this 16 act lineup is evidence that WRAS still has their finger on the pulse of the Atlanta scene. BOSCO and Speakerfoxxx will be headlining on Mammal Gallery’s main floor, teaming up to bring the same summery vibes which blew our minds on their recent collaborative Girls in the Yard mixtape. If raw knuckle punk is more your style, Athens DIY hell-raisers Muuy Biien will be headlining the upstairs stage and unloading killer riffs, as they tend to do. More details and full lineup below.
The show is $10 general admission (18+), but costs $7 for GSU students with a Panther ID. Tickets can be purchased via wrasfest.com. The first 88 patrons will receive WRAS gift bags. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and performances will begin at 7 p.m.
