Make no mistake, this track may move at a hazy, slurred-out pace, but it’s a slow burn that grows in intensity with each incendiary bar.

Led by Dr. Conspiracy’s mind-expanding production and Day Tripper’s psychedelic take on conscious rap, the group has blessed the city with a steady stream of cosmic bangers. “Simulation Wig” continues that legacy, even if it doesn’t evolve their sound. The tape hiss fidelity and well-selected samples remain front and center, providing a soulful backdrop for Day Tripper’s stoic storytelling. Like the best MCs, DT keeps the listener on their toes, gathering force with every rhyme. When he takes a stab at modern culture, he goes for the jugular: “All that technology won’t save you from damnation / Don’t care who got the better shovel on the plantation.”
