Tedo Stone’s new album, Marshes, may not see the light of day for a few months, but he recently released a new track to whet our appetites.
On “To the Marshes,” the opening track and lead single from the LP, the Athens transplant finds the happy medium between Drive By Truckers and The Band, combining crunchy guitar tones with a Southern snarl. It’s a catchy, surprisingly noisy jam, and Stone’s ability to tie together a muddy bridge with the sunny, background vocal-filled chorus really shines in the song’s final moments. Listen below.
Marshes is out September 18 via This is American Music.
