It’s been over a year since we’ve heard from Phantom Electric, but today the band is back with “Tell Me,” a new single which oozes with wild oscillations of synthesizer, hooky choruses, and a persistent groove. It’s a dynamic track that delivers its earworm melodies with a casual pace. Frontman Nick Whitson’s voice barely pitches above a bedroom whisper during the whole song as he repeats, “Tell me, tell me / What it is you really want / Tell me, tell me / Are you better off alone?” If you aren’t careful, you may find yourself swooning after the restrained vocoder bridge hits and the beat drops again.
