Ever since unveiling their debut EP last June, 100 Watt Horse mastermind George Pettis has been confused by the folk labels that have been pinned on the music, and with new single “Wann It” he seems determined to leave those comparisons behind him. The track, one of the most danceable on the group’s new LP, Everything is Alright Forever and Forever and Forever and Thank You Thank You Thank You Amen, draws as many comparisons to Pettis’ previous work with Wowser Bowser as it does to 100 Watt Horse’s debut. The song’s breezy drum loop provides a consistent balance to his wispy, warbling vocals, and when the funky synth and keys break in, all seems right in the world. It’s the perfect introduction to summer, and we couldn’t be more excited to premiere it for you this morning. Listen below.
