Performing in front of a jam-packed crowd at the Coca-Cola Roxy on Tuesday, MGMT brought the best of their psych-tinged electropop jams with a set that drew liberally from both audience favorites and cuts from their latest LP, Little Dark Age. Most of the group’s songs were accompanied by elaborate lights and tripped-out projections, but rather than drawing attention away from the music, the bright-hued visuals added an element of drama and mystique. Overall, it was a commanding display from a group that has had their share of ups and down, but continue to hold true to the path they’ve set for themselves.
