After last week’s marathon of live music, this week does seem to be much more of a slow trot with much fewer shows and less conflicts. But we are heading into July 4th weekend which usually means at least one festival is on the table. This year it’s the third annual RaurFest, which is going down in Heaven at the Masquerade on Saturday night. Headlined by the Indigo Child himself, Raury, the single night affair also features performances from the likes of Joey Bada$$ and Kilo Kish, as well as surprise guests guaranteed to make the famously springy floor of Heaven feel like it’s on the verge of collapse. The show is free with an RSVP, so make sure to get on the list before you’re left out.

Elsewhere, there are three record release parties on the docket starting with Hot Wives celebrating their new EP, Eat Your Enemies, on Wednesday at 529. On Friday, black metal quartet Cloak bring their sinister riffs to 529 to welcome their debut 7″ from Boris Records, while on Saturday electropop duo Hank & Cupcakes lead a stacked lineup at the Earl to celebrate their latest LP, Cheap Thrill.

If none of those options strike you as interesting, I promise you there are plenty of other choices to get fired up about this week (Deantoni Parks! Adron! Coco and Clair Clair! Nothing! Aesop Rock!), so get off the couch and immerse yourself in the culture, ya hear.
