If you’re enjoying a cold one in East Atlanta Village tomorrow night and you notice your drink vibrating to the edge of the table — don’t panic. It’s not an earthquake. However, you need to quickly and calmly down your drink, tip your bartender, and hustle down to 529. You’re missing quite possibly the heaviest show to hit Atlanta this year.
Headlined by UK juggernauts Conan and Seattle destroyers Samothrace, the inaugural Atlanta Doom Fest is taking over the EAV hub for two nights of sludgy, brain-rattling metal. Brought to you by the combined promotional forces of Chunklet, Irrelevant Music, and A. Rippin’ Production, the new fest is fortified by a strong contingency of heavy hitters, including ample local representation from the likes of Order of the Owl, TORO, Savagist, Crawl, and Ladybird. There’s nary a weak spot on this bill, so punctual arrival is advised.
