In what is starting to become something of an annual tradition, rock and roll lifers Biters have once again teamed up with director Video Rahim and producer Ashley Simpson to create a sleazy, party-to-you-puke tribute to the many virtues of raising hell, sex, drugs and, well, you know the rest. “Restless Hearts” marks the third time the two parties have worked together and with every ensuing project the ante has been upped; shit just keeps getting wilder, more provocative and reckless. It’s not so much a formula as a fortuitous pairing: Biters’ glammed-up riffs and anthemic, punch-the-sky vocals combined with Video Rahim’s penchant for capturing the spirit of a band’s music and translating it to the screen just makes for some killer viewing. Are there some well-worn tropes at play here? Definitely. But it still feels honest and authentic, which is all you can ask for from a band that’s made rock and roll their life’s calling.
“Restless Hearts” is the first single from Biters’ sophomore LP, Electric Blood, due out August 7 via UK-based Earache Records. Pre-orders can be found here.
