After ending 2015 in a flurry of major activity — signing a multi-album deal with eOne Music, touring the U.S. with Red Fang and Wild Throne on the REVOLVER Magazine sponsored Autumn Breeze tour — local noise rockers Whores. have spent much of 2016 in relative silence. No new material has surfaced, and the trio has played very few shows in Atlanta or beyond. Last week, however, things started to get very noisy in the Whores. camp when the group announced they had completed work on their highly-anticipated first full length.
Few formal details were included in the announcement, but here’s what we know from past interviews and social media posts: the upcoming LP was recorded at Atlanta’s Parhelion Studios with Ryan Boesch, who was also at the helm for the trio’s last effort, Clean. In addition, the untitled record will feature 10 songs and is slated for an October release. That’s all the information we currently have, but further details are sure to surface soon as the release date nears.
On the heels of the album news, this week Whores. also revealed they would once again be supporting Red Fang on another round of U.S. dates. Accompanying them on the month-long trek is none other than sludge and doom metal behemoths Torche, making this one of the can’t-miss, powerhouse lineups to hit the road this fall. The tour takes over the Masquerade Hell stage on November 29. Tickets have yet to go on sale, but when they do make sure to snatch them up as they’re sure to go quick.
