After hitting us with the grimy visuals for “Who’s Gonna Get Fucked First?,” Awful Records crew chief Father reaches back in time to to bring us the video for “Cheap Thrills,” a track taken from his 2014 Boys & Girls Club EP. For those that missed the cut the first time around, it’s much of the same minimalist, degenerate material that we’ve grown accustomed to from the Atlanta rapper, although Father does add in some sort of auto-tuned, pitch shifter that makes him sound a lot like West Coast legend Too Short.

Interestingly enough, the production possesses the same laid-back, stripped-down twang heard in many West Coast tunes with sporadically placed bass lines helping to smooth out the otherwise head-nod-worthy beat. I could listen to this beat while riding down California State Route 1 and smoking questionable substances.

The single’s video is another lazily put together mash-up of the Awful Record’s founder singing and swinging around with purple, pink and blue lights serving to bring emphasis to his melancholy yet ominous subject matter.
