AFROPUNK’s 2017 Atlanta showcase was one for the ages. This year’s lineup was stacked with locally and nationally acclaimed talent, and both factions came ready to satisfy the crowds that gathered before them. Amongst all of the hair twist-outs, hand-crafted costumes, and intersectional intermingling, the Carnival of Consciousness delivered indelible memories that will not soon be forgotten.

Jamila Woods brought a soulful, calming performance to AFROPUNK. Woods’ melodic, rangy vocals coincided with looping electric guitar riffs, soothing keyboard strokes, and rhythmic high hat drum patterns delivered at the hands of her live band.

Denzel Curry electrified fans with rapid-fire lyrics delivered in double-time cadences. The crowd jumped up and down at his will as he bellowed from the edge of the stage.

DJ OHSO entertained the AFROPUNK crowd with a string of classic rap records, Billboard smash hits, and timeless Atlanta hip-hop anthems.

Flatbush Zombies brought a cantankerous, corybantic energy to the AFROPUNK stage, diving into the crowd to give fans a hands-on experience that will stay with them forever.
