The convergence of fist-pumping riffs and effervescent vocals on Flower’s new single “Dreams” underscore the ease with which frontman Jack Fowler crafts road trip rock and roll. The immediacy of the track is bolstered by the shoegazey chords and reverb heavy drums while the chorus rises like a lazy wave and crashes with a crystalline ferocity.

“Dreams” sounds both ordered and effortless, which makes sense considering Fowler has been crafting his particular brand of anthemic grunge for a few years now. Yet, between solo records and getting his main project exwhy signed to Other People Records, Fowler somehow found time to start Flower. Though the ’90s inspired idea is still in its infancy, the singles released so far promise a diverse offering from a fine addition to Atlanta’s music scene. Listen below.

Flower’s debut LP, Waste of Life, is out February 5.

Flower will celebrate the release of Waste of Life tomorrow night at Mammal Gallery. They will be supported by Future Primitives (Birmingham, AL), Third Season, The Marrows, and Lady of the Lake. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $7.
