Proving that the Atlanta DIY underground never sleeps, the second installment of KrustFest took place at the WonderRoot Performing Arts Center this past Friday night. The show was curated by Kudzu Kids frontwoman, Krista Williamson, and Blurry vocalist Tyler Sidney. With an extensive bill featuring nine local artists, the festival was an impressive showcase for young ATL bands on the rise.
As the clock struck 7 p.m., Sam Wilson and his group Fuiste kicked things off by rolling into a set of mellow jams. By the time emo rockers Blurry took the stage a couple of hours later, the venue was packed to max capacity, forcing some spectators to observe from outside the room. The band ripped through tracks from their recently released debut album, Noteworthy, and closed their set with a rousing Title Fight cover. Indie punk outfit Sea Ghost delivered yet another electric performance, and were followed by local hip-hop group Danger Incorporated who galvanized the crowd with a high-energy set. The night was capped off by a triumphant performance from Larry League that left everyone in attendance feeling exhilarated and looking forward to KrustFest III.
