When this ragtag team of gadgets first assembled at 529, they were thrown on the bill as Bathtub. You can still hear why that luxurious moniker would apply to “On Point,” what with all the bossa nova breezes from Pop Weirdos co-director Jamison Murphy. But nestle in a little longer, and you begin to see why the gang settled with Paradise Montage instead. From the slick electronic drums, to the quirky photograph snaps, to the perky synths that chime in the chorus, the motley crew juxtaposes several versions of retro-future bliss in barely three minutes. Thanks to this battery of gear, the good ship Montage often sails into some wacky territory at gigs; for now, though, “On Point” proves they’ve left their porcelain days far behind.

Listen below.

Paradise Montage will perform on on Sat., July 13 on the Georgia Theatre Rooftop alongside Grand Vapids (Record Release) and Sailors and Ships. Doors open at 7 p.m.
