Now in its seventh year, Ohmpark Fest returns tonight to the beloved stages of East Atlanta’s the EARL and 529. Originating as a finale for Davy Minor’s now-defunct music blog, what was meant to be a one-off event continues to find success in celebrating Atlanta’s independent music scene. Indeed, over the course of its run, the festival has emerged as a yearly tradition, a kickoff of sorts to a new year of local art and music. For Minor himself, it has become an alternate platform to Ohmpark, allowing him to champion Atlanta artists without the day-to-day grind of maintaining a blog.

Curated based on Minor’s ever-evolving “bucket list” bands, this year’s lineup covers a vast spectrum of genres whether it’s garage rock, hip hop, or punk with some spunk, making for a night chalk full of diverse local tunes.
