Artist Name: Cissy

Who Are They: Grunge punk trio from Atlanta. Featuring former members of the Joy Kills.

Members
Michael Westberg – Guitar, Vocals
Dan Eskridge – Bass, Vocals
Chris Scheetz – Drums

Sounds Like: The musical equivalent of a molotov cocktail. Raw, filthy early grunge era riffs played with punk abandon and world must die attitude. Zero fucks songs made for taking a sledgehammer to your TV and setting shit on fire.

Releases: The band’s debut EP, the four-song Slow Jerk Demo, came out in early February and is available as a name your price download via Bandcamp.

Mandatory Listening: “Rejection Protection” is led by a ferocious bulldozer of a riff looking to annihilate everything in its path. It’s frantic, corrosive, and righteously pissed all at the same time. At times it feels like the band is struggling to keep up and keep it contained, which only adds to the song’s air of violent desperation. Play it loud. Lose your shit. Repeat.

Cissy will perform tonight at the Drunken Unicorn when they play in support of Illegal Drugs, Tongue Party, and Vincas. Doors open at 9 p.m. Admission is $7.
