A week after unveiling our year-in-review cover story, Managing Editor Guillermo Castro was invited by Atlanta’s NPR station, WABE 90.1 FM, to discuss some of the article’s central themes and concerns. Over the course of the nine-minute interview, which was broadcast this morning on the arts and culture program City Lights, Castro and WABE’s Gabbie Watts discuss several topics including the effects of gentrification and widespread development on local artists, the importance of DIY culture, and the role promoters should play in creating opportunities for local bands and musicians.

The interview is available for streaming now on WABE.org.
