Enlisting the talents of singer-songwriter Noel Hadid, a self-described “Zayn Malik with 808s,” Hazi Hakani takes the mantle as executive producer on his latest effort, “Typical.” Hadid’s smooth vocals cut through crystal clear over the dense layers of production Hakani lays out on the soundscape—a shared vision brought to life via the pair’s love of collaboration. The guitars on the track were provided by ADK, while the song was engineered by both Tee Romano and Hakani himself. With art direction courtesy of Wes Laurent, this single provides a window not only into what is typical and what isn’t in within relationships, but it also illuminates what keeps the artist and producer continually motivated to build his music up like architecture.
