Dang y’all. It’s been over a year since ABRA dropped the Princess EP, and over here at Immersive we’ve been starved for new tunes from the Darkwave Duchess. Her recent surprise track “Bacardi” was a fun diversion and a sly nod to mid ‘00s R&B, but the new song “B.R.A.T.” is ABRA at her best, spitting slinky rhymes over a churning narcotic beat.

Like “Bacardi,” the track was announced unexpectedly via Instagram, and ABRA was quick to include the disclaimer, “It’s rough but I was tired out sitting on it y’all been asking for new music.” Throughout the track ABRA dissects everything from reparations to the end of days before breaking into the sort of fiercely confident downtempo anthem she perfected on Princess. Though as of yet there’s no word of an upcoming album, it’s good to know that ABRA still has her chops, although I really don’t think anyone doubted that.
