I suppose you could call a PLS PLS a pop band insofar as they write anthemic melodies and hooky choruses within familiar pop constructs. But below that glossy veneer, their songs tend to be much darker and kinetic, full of tension and propulsive energy that feels more like punk. The band’s third LP, Jet Black, is due out this March.
